Snow Light

two black cats looking out window

Snow Light

Nothing special, just brother and sister quietly sitting together looking out into the backyard from the second floor window. It’s one of the best vantage points in the house; from the top of the little armoire at the top of the stairs they can see into the two bedrooms, down the stairs and out the back window and, to a limited extent, out the front windows in the bedrooms.

But I was appreciating how my glass pendant so beautifully complements their eyes.

The curve of one cat with the curve of the the mirror frame, and the other along the horizontal top of the furniture makes it look like Steinlen.

What a lovely photo. In my home that glass pendant would have been toast!

It’s hung from a 50-pound hook with chain and braided cord, and it’s not quite long enough to hit anything when it swings. Various cats have done everything imaginable with it over the years. I used to have baby spider plants and other cuttings growing in water, but gave up on that when I’d found one or two standing on the edges eating plants and drinking water, like a scavenged snack.

  4. totally agree – the perfect most stunning combination! Love Darcy, Bingley and Helen xxx

Great picture. Your eyes do look the same color as the glass ornaments. Bet there are tons of birds looking for some nice seeds out that window. Hope all of you have a great week end.

I love this photo! Maybe just watching the snow flakes.

They were obviously transfixed by SOMETHING outside (or else they are so accustomed to you with a camera pointed their way that you were totally ignored).
