Can’t Get Away From the Kids

black cat on box with cat in background

Mimi just can't shake the kids.

“I’m on the top of a tall stack of boxes in the middle of the room and I still can’t get away from these kids.”

Note Jelly Bean in the background, waiting for attention.

I honestly doubt Mimi thinks that, it just give the appearance of it with her expression and JB hanging out back there. Mr. Sunshine is on her right and In the next moment the three were cuddling and having a communal bath.

They are having a ball with all the boxes in the room. I’m not. Finding places to store them is moving slowly. At least they are doing some good providing exercise and entertainment for cats!

Daily Sketch: Kelly on the Windowsill

I just love Kelly’s delicate profile, one of the reason for yesterday’s sketch, but in this one also is her curling tail waving off the sill and her contented expression as she looks out the second floor window.

Composition in Black and Green: 2011

Composition in Black and Green

Jelly Bean enjoys being washed in spring sunlight as I enjoy how the pattern of the window muntins falls across the wall, the sink and him.

Even though none of us is Irish, we’ll be celebrating this week with pictures of stunning black cats with those vintage mint green bath fixtures. And perhaps one with orange instead, you’ll see why later this week.

In the meantime, what you can’t hear in this photo is Jelly Bean’s loud, vigorous purr as it echoes in the sink, truly an amazing percussive technique.

A little later this year I’ll be choosing up to a dozen “Compositions in Black and Green” for a set of greeting cards, notebook covers and “black cat wear”, tees, bags and other useful items. Remember the ones you like and let me know.

I’ll do this again this year as well! Let me know your favorite images of black cats for “black cat wear”.

Our ABC Award.

That stands for “Awesome Blog Content”, and it was awarded by Mark Wallis of The Vibes. Stop over and visit his cool and colorful travels through music, art and society in Manchester, England, and especially read about Sparky and other cats who have shared his life.

Now the fun begins: describe myself alphabetically using a word beginning with each letter of the alphabet. I’m going to include my feline partners in this and fill it out with favorite colors and foods!

Now for the part I am always uncomfortable about in this award practice: name six blogs who win the award. First, how could I limit it to six? Second, how could I explain to the ones who are not on the list?

I’m going to take the chicken way out. See that list on the right? It’s pretty well up to date. Choose any one there and visit them!
