Massive Cuddle Puddle Blocks Major Workspace

Then, with Bean underneath trying to sleep Mewsette and Giuseppe were sitting up and lying all over him and each other in various postures of happy kitty baths. In any case, I had very limited view of my computer monitor.
But the computer is not my only working medium. I got the most of out it I possibly could with photos and a sketch, coming up next.

Big Sister is Watching You: From A Year Ago

Mewsette is Watching
Mewsette likes high places. This shelf is nearly nine feet off the floor and used to hold some larger trailing houseplants that got a lot of sunlight from the window at the top of the stairs. Now it holds Mewsette. When the first plant landed loudly on the floor and turned into quite a mess, I moved them all to other places.
She’s discovered she can launch herself from the top of a small armoire and will sometimes spend the entire day up there, especially in the winter when heat rises and is trapped in the corner I imagine it’s quite cozy. I knew she liked to be up there, but the first few times she decided to spend the day there I ran around the house in a panic trying to find her.
Jelly Bean will sometimes venture up there with her, but for all their swaggering neither Mr. Sunshine nor Giuseppe will try it. I’m not unhappy about that.

Happy Meow-loween From My Mewsette!
Posted: October 30, 2011 Filed under: black cats, cat photographs, cats, daily photo, Halloween, mewsette | Tags: cat dressed as gypsy, cat photographs, cat with pumpkin and lamp, halloween cat, mewsette, pet photography, photography 8 CommentsThis is Mewsette’s favorite costume! She didn’t even have to put on one embarrassing garment or accessory.
Perhps Mewsette’s costume is honoring my alleged gypsy great-grandmother.
When I attended Catholic grade school, we were to dress up as our patron saint for All Hallow’s Eve, and dressing up as St. Bernadette was pretty easy for me as I already tended to wear peasant-style clothing and St. Bernadette didn’t suffer any dire injuries or horrible torture like some of the other saints, she just lived to be very old, despite Lourdes.
Well, I think Mewsette is dressed up as one of her patron kitties—she is quiet and introspective, unlike her brothers, and I can just see her in the role of a familiar or a gypsy fortune-teller!

Big Yawn

A Big Yawn
By the way, I did catch Mewsette in a big yawn during the photography stakeout last Thursday.
And then I gave up work for the day…

Maybe she'll notice us now.
Okay, okay, I admit I’ve been busy, but do you guys like to eat?! Then you’ll keep doing things like this as inspiration.
I also admit I posted this nearly two years ago, but it’s still appropriate today, as is the text below. The one thing I’d add is two torties on my lap, and Mimi on my keyboard shelf. I have been busy, and I’ve missed sharing a lot of photos.
For now, enjoy somewhat over 50 pounds of black cat on one desk.
They are always doing something unique, that whimsical quartet of siblings, but sometimes they have the right idea. I really was tired, my eyes were strained, I was losing focus at the end of a long day, and one by one the three boys piled up trying to get their point across (we need dinner, you need to stop working), hence the multiple nap. Then Mewsette, the big sister, piled on top of all of them and began bathing them all in turn, causing things to start falling off my desk. Still, I could pile papers on top of them and keep working. When the paws and tails expanded onto my keyboard, I decided to take their advice and quit working for the day.

Madame Mewsette will tell your future now.
…and I will tell your future in my pumpkin crystal ball.
This is what Mewsette is dressed up as to celebrate this evening’s events. And she didn’t even have to put on one embarrassing garment or accessory.

Help, Mom’s Gone Crazy

Is this what you want me to do?
I just can’t figure out what she wants me to do but it has something to do with these pumpkins! Sometimes mom gets these crazy ideas and she chases us around the house and tries to get us to do things that we don’t understand, and she’s been after us with these pumpkins for days. I can’t wait till Halloween is over and mom gets back to normal!
Yesterday while mom was working on her computer I saw a few kitties wearing silly costumes. It’s just a really good thing she didn’t try that, and that’s all I’ll say on that subject.
The Eyes Have It

The Eyes Have It
Mewsette and Giueseppe open their eyes briefly to be photographed, otherwise don’t move a whisker.
This is today’s feature photo on Today, my daily photo blog. Click over there to see a larger version and read the text I wrote about these two, about this particular family of cats and about photographing black cats in particular.
I have photographed my cats for years, actually carrying a camera around the house with me to be sure I catch the moment. I often use their images in my own designs as well as selling their images as stock photography. I have about 30 years of cat photos and have the last ten years of my digitals on my website. You can see them in action in almost every entry on my blog The Creative Cat, and on my Marketplace blog you can see them in my Animal Sympathy Cards. I have eight galleries of them in the photo section on my website.
And then I gave up work for the day…
