Giuseppe Performs

black cat stretching on desk

Giuseppe put on quite a performance on my desk today!

Breakdancing? Recumbent disco, perhaps? A dramatic death scene from some Wagnerian opera? His team won?

Ah, a sweet message from his amour, Mlle. Daisy Emerald Marguerite. Be cautious, Giuseppe, Mlle. may be a little shocked to see you in full ecstasy!

No, Giuseppe says, “Lighten up mom! Life is good!” This is one of the good things about living with cats.

Enjoy the rest of Giuseppe’s performance.

He’s a star! Cat’s have their mad half-hours where we all stop and watch in wonder as they attempt pirouettes or play tag with the invisible man.

When I lived in Amsterdam, my silver tabby, Frogmella would hide up trees in the park and drop on unsuspecting passers-by in a determined attempt to induce heart attacks. We knew when she’d done it because people would run screaming past our back yard, tearing at their hair in panic. Such a naughty cat, but very entertaining.

Mark, I think it’s running through the family–earlier today his mom, little Mimi, was scampering around and playing a little hockey with…nothing.

Where did Frogmella get a creative idea like that? No one can tell me they don’t have cerative little minds!

      • Mark says:

Frogmella was the naughtiest cat on Earth. She would run at people sideways, back arched and tail hooked with the brightest most mischievous eyes, wanting to be chased.

She would also chase geese three times the size of herself, even if it meant getting grabbed by a strong beak and dunked in the canal. A bona fide lunatic!

  2. […] And when they can’t fit on my lap or I move around too much they provide stress relief right on my desk, like Giuseppe’s performance the other day! […]

  3. Pam says:

Love it! My cat has a great “break dancing” routine, too. He usually does it while I’m preparing his meal! He is so happy that food is coming, I guess!

  4. Wazeau says:

Love the slide show! Nothing more relaxing then watching a cat writhing around.

  5. vscook says:

    Giuseppe is quite the performer!

  6. roxannel says:

What great shots! I especially like his tail tucked up between his hind legs.
